This is a complete art curriculum for students in grades K-12. "Level 1: Foundational Level" is for students in grades K - 2 or older students who have had little or no previous art instruction. "Level 2: Intermediate Level" is for students in grades 3 - 5 who have mastered the concepts and vocabulary presented in Level 1. The third volume, "Level 3: Advanced Level," can be used for middle-school students or as a one credit course for high-school students.

Each volume contains over 100 step-by-step lessons (which provides enough material for three years, if one lesson is taught per week). These lessons present the basic elements of art (line, shape, color, and texture) in five different units (drawing, print-making, painting, sculpture, and crafts). This curriculum is superior to other home school art programs in that it covers all areas of art experience (not just drawing or crafts), and clear objectives are presented in each lesson. In addition, art history is integrated directly into the curriculum.

What others have said about this book:

"By telling me what to teach, the authors gave me a reason, beyond just having fun, for tackling a series of art projects . . . 'Art Adventures at Home' is a well-organized curriculum."
        - Karen Apple, Christian Home Educators Network, Md.

"I love this curriculum! I've been homeschooling for five years and have never been satisfied with any art program until now . . . Thanks again for this marvelous resource!"
        - Cynthia Davis, Lincoln, Illinois

Many of the lessons in the Art Adventures at Home curriculum refer to specific works of art that illustrate the objective of the lesson. Now we have collected 40 reproductions and put them into a handy resource we call the Masterpak. Each reproduction is printed on glossy paper and measures 8.5" x 5.5". The Masterpak includes such well-known titles as Van Gogh's "Starry Night" and Rembrandt's "The Night Watch." A chart in the front of the Masterpak shows you at a glance which reproduction can be used for which lesson(s). A real time-saver!
